As the mom of 6 kids, I know how important it is to have photographs of your children and family. That shot of your little one snuggling his blankie or the genuine smile of your 7-year-old with her front tooth missing gives us joy. We know that they won't be little for long.
One of my favorite images is a picture of my daughter as a senior, glowing because she's just about to begin the adventure of college and her adult life. These are the images we want to keep forever. They make our heart sing when we bring them out years later.
I have spent a lot of time photographing my own children. Sitting back and watching them, framing the shot, then catching them as that fleeting look comes across their face. There are very few things that are more rewarding than when you get that shot!
Other things that make my heart swell are my faith, my husband, and my kids. I can't imagine life without them! Our family, like yours I'm sure, is always busy. We have a table set for at least six each evening. After dinner, if we're not running the kids to practice, we like to watch America Ninja Warriors or Running Wild with Bear Grylis together. As the kids are getting older (our little one is now nine) Mike and I are able to do fun "couple" things again. We have learned to ballroom dance, we kayaked two rivers and a lake, and we work out in the mornings together. Even so, I have to admit I do miss having babies in the house!
